Red Cross sending Colorado volunteers to Hawaii

COLORADO -

The American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming is sending disaster volunteers to help those displaced in Hawaii.

According to the Red Cross, more than 2,000 residents of the Big Island in Hawaii remain under mandatory evacuations as the Kilauea Volcano continues to threaten homes. The initial eruption began last week, and has gotten worse with additional lava flows destroying homes.

Two volunteers are being sent from northern Colorado, two from southeastern Colorado, and one from Wyoming, according to a release.
